Policy

Editorial policy

What we will publish, what we will not, and how a page gets fixed when it turns out to be wrong.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial ones. A vendor cannot buy a review, a ranking position, a place in a shortlist, or the removal of a criticism. Affiliate commissions do not influence verdicts; the review methodology exists to make that checkable rather than merely asserted.

Evidence standard

  • Product facts come from the vendor's own documentation and pricing pages, checked on the date stated on the page.
  • Anything unconfirmed is labelled unconfirmed. If a price cannot be verified, the page says "not verified" rather than quoting a figure that looks authoritative.
  • Third-party sources are used when the vendor's material is silent or when independent testing exists, and are listed at the end of the page.
  • No invented data. We do not fabricate search volumes, user counts, ratings, testimonials, or competitor performance.

Research-based vs. hands-on

Most pages on this site are research-based: written from public documentation and pricing pages, without a login to the product. Those pages say so, in the summary panel and in the byline. A page is described as hands-on only if the product was actually used for the tasks being described, and the page states what was done.

One page, one job

Each page targets a specific question a reader is trying to answer. We do not publish near-duplicate pages to cover keyword variants, and we do not pad a page to reach a word count. A short page that answers the question beats a long page that circles it.

Updates and dates

Pages carry both a published date and an updated date. Prices, plan limits, and free-tier terms are the facts most likely to change, so they are re-checked on a schedule and carry their own verification date. If a page has not been re-checked recently, say so rather than implying freshness we cannot prove.

Corrections

  • Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, including errors that favour a product we like.
  • Meaningful corrections are noted on the page rather than made silently.
  • If a correction changes a verdict, the verdict changes, and the page says why.

To report an error, use the contact page. Include the page URL and, where possible, a source.

Authorship and assistance

Pages are published under the SoloScaleLab Editorial byline. Research and drafting may be assisted by software, but every published claim is the publisher's responsibility, and no page describes testing that did not happen. [TODO: add the real author/editor name and background, and a one-line statement of how AI assistance is used, before launch]

Comments and reader input

There is no comment section. Reader emails that identify a factual error or a genuinely missing scenario are used to improve pages, with credit where it is wanted.
